This week I chat with EE Journal Editor-in-Chief and resident FPGA expert Kevin Morris in a special FPGA State of the Union Fish Fry. Kevin talks with me about where he sees FPGAs headed in 2012, what to expect from market leaders Xilinx and Altera, how Lattice Semicondutor's acquisition of SiliconBlue will affect the landscape, and where smaller start-ups Tabula and Achronix fit into that mix.

Pinball? Basketball ? Pure nerdiness and geekery at work?

With a couple of "robotic hands" , some motion detection trickery around some sensitive areas (in order to detect the ball approaching predetermined targets and so on) , an automatic pinball player would be a true pearl in a sheer geeky madness attack.
Basket could benefit from these goodness as well.
A wheeled robot equipped with an arm , acting as a ball launcher , a color matching vision sistem to detect the ball and the canister :
